OE + TVHeadend - Scan instant fail

Added by Pede Bhj almost 9 years ago

Hi guys,

I am going crazy after having tried to get TVHeadend setup for a week or so.

The setup:
Raspberry Pi 2B
OpenElec 6.0
TVHeadend 4.0.3
TT CT2-4400

The stick seems to be working:

/storage/.kodi/addons$ dmesg | grep dvb
[ 6.114942] usb 1-1.4: dvb_usb_v2: found a 'TechnoTrend TVStick CT2-4400' in warm state
[ 6.115349] usb 1-1.4: dvb_usb_v2: will pass the complete MPEG2 transport stream to the software demuxer
[ 6.116781] usb 1-1.4: dvb_usb_v2: MAC address: bc:ea:2b:44:07:c1
[ 6.502274] usb 1-1.4: dvb_usb_v2: schedule remote query interval to 300 msecs
[ 6.502290] usb 1-1.4: dvb_usb_v2: 'TechnoTrend TVStick CT2-4400' successfully initialized and connected
[ 6.502417] usbcore: registered new interface driver dvb_usb_dvbsky
[ 235.505688] si2168 3-0064: downloading firmware from file 'dvb-demod-si2168-b40-01.fw'

I have setup TVHeadend following various guides.
I am looking for DVB-C in Denmark for "Stofanet".
From w_scan I get the following (not the full list):

  1. C2 <freq> <sr> <fec> <mod> [plp_id] [data_slice_id] [system_id] [# comment]
    #------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    C 378000000 6900000 NONE QAM256 # Stofa Bredballe
    C 386000000 6900000 NONE QAM256 # Stofa Bredballe
    C 394000000 6900000 NONE QAM256 # Stofa Bredballe
    C 402000000 6900000 NONE QAM256 # Stofa Bredballe
    C 410000000 6900000 NONE QAM256 # Stofa Bredballe
    C 418000000 6900000 NONE QAM256 # Stofa Bredballe
    C 426000000 6900000 NONE QAM256 # Stofa Bredballe
    C 434000000 6900000 NONE QAM256 # Stofa Bredballe

No matter how I try to setup the network/muxes the scan just "FAIL" instantly with no additional information to try to debug myself.
I would greatly appreciate any assistance I can get.

Thanks a lot!

I don't personally use DVB-C but you may want to try adding additional zeros to the Symbol rate so it matches with the frequency. Also if you're running firmware 4.0.19 try an older version (4.0.11 for example) as I've had issues receiving DVB-T/T2 when using that firmware.

Hi Mark,

Thanks for getting involved here. I am on the verge of just giving up. :)

With regards to the symbol rate I have tried adding more zeroes which doesn't change much.
I didn't expect it to since both TV provider as well as w_scan tells me 6900000 is the correct one.

With regards to trying other TVHeadend version I have no idea of how to do that. There is only one version available in the unofficial OE repo and the ones I can download from this page's downloads says "incorrect" architecture" when I try to install in Kido on OE 6.0.

Anyone have other ideas?`

Much appreciated.

I was talking about your tuners firmware not Tvheadend version, although if w_scan is finding muxes fine then so should Tvheadend. Try setting Some values to AUTO.

Have you tried using a pre-defined list?

Hi,

Did you solved your issue ? I've the same problem with fail scan.
v4.1.134, on a syno DS716+ braswell, with pinnacle 73e recognize as DiBcom 7000PC : DVB-T #0.
It works ok with my video station syno application.

I tried to set all possible param to AUTO, but without success. Still all scan result in Error.
