[solved] recording fails since exchange of harddisk

Hello everybody,

I am running tvheadend 4.0.5, but I don't think it matters in this case.

I used to record to a usb harddisk with a ntfs filesystem until last weekend. The combination of usb and ntfs filesystem lead to high iowait which showed up as poor performance at playback of pvr recordings (with a kodi 15 and 15.1 frontend).

Last weekend I copied all files over to a new built-in harddisk with an ext4 filesystem. Copying took several hours. I then unmounted the old usb disk and mounted the new harddisk to the very exact same mountpoint where the old usb harddisk had been mounted before. I changed the rights as necessary. If I su to hts I can see all files below the mountpoint and I can touch a new file and delete it again.

I can now watch my old recordings (recorded before the disk exchange). BUT: all new recordings fail with the log entry:

dvr: unable to create new channel streaming chain for <channel name>

The Failed Recordings tab shows all failed recordings with "Time missed" which is incorrect in my feeling because at the scheduled time, the log says

dvr: <title> on <channel name> recorder starting

at 1 thousandth second before the a. m. failure.

What could I have done wrong with the harddiks exchange that leads to such mysterious behaviour?

In case anybody has the same problem and reads this later: The problem was something completely different. At the time I exchanged the harddisk, I had set the streaming protocol to "htsp" - the only streaming protocol that you must not select because the recording fails only! with this protocol!

Strange that you can select this protocol in that dialog! I'll file a feature request to not offer this protocol there.
