Some muxes failing and channels not working
Added by d33k4y surname over 9 years ago
Hey,
today I took some time to get OpenElec working with TVHeadEnd to record my cable tv. Everything worked until I saw, that some muxes failed while scanning and the services that were found there, aren't working. They are listed as services and I know they are the correct channels, but the channels aren't mapped, when using "Check availability". Without "Check availability" they are being mapped, but just don't work.
I checked nearly every detail of the muxes and they are correct compared to the official frequency and numbers list of my cable provider.
Does anyone have an idea what I can do or what causes these problems?
I'm running OpenElec with TVHeadEnd 3.9.2765~g029488 on a RaspberryPi2 with a TechniSat CableStar Combo HD as the tuner.
Thanks!

Hi,
can I somewhere get the details about why the scan is failing?

Make sure you're entering frequencies correctly avoid using AUTO as some tuners will fail when auto is used.

Hey,
thanks, but all settings of these failing muxes are set correctly, no setting is on "auto".

Can you tune to these frequencies using something else? dvbtune, MuMuDVB?
This isn't the first time I've seen tuning issues on the RPI..

Hmm, I don't know dvbtune oder MuMuDVB. I'm trying to test it the easy way: installing OSMC with tvheadend and looking if there are any differences. If this doesn't help, I may go for MuMuDVB.
What do you mean by tuning issues on the RPI? The tuner itself or how tvheadend uses it?
Thanks!

Alright, OSMC does not work because the drivers are missing and I don't know how to upgrade the kernel there.
But a strange thing happened when testing OpenElec again: the missing channels got recognized and work sometimes for like 5 seconds. After that they don't work anymore and I can't even watch any other channels. A reboot resets this again and those channels from the failing muxes aren't working again.
