Timeshift issues

Added by hans wurst over 9 years ago

Hi Folks!
I set tvheadend up to use a Ramdisk for timeshifting. So i created a folder called "timeshift" and mounted via the following the ramdisk:

sudo mount -t tmpfs -o size=1024M none /mnt/timeshift

accordingly i entered the path in the tvheadend configuration via browser.

But once i pause TV and start it again, problems come up. The videostream seems corrupted, isn't continouus anymore and only switching channels fixes the issue. I've tried with timeshifting "on-demand" enabled and disabled, but nothing changes. It also doesn't matter if it's a SD or HD channel...

The system running tvheadend is Linux Mint 17.1 and the source is a DigitalDevices Cine-S2, running on a Core2Duo E8300 with 4GB RAM. The Ramdisk i set up has 1GB, and i've tried different options in the tvheadend-setup using time-limited, memory limited and both unlimited, while none of those setups fixed the issue!

I've also tried to timeshift via HDD, but this doesn't work either!

Any help/ideas are highly appreciated!

Oh, and since i'm posting here: Thanks for this great piece of software, i really like tvheadend so far!

Kind regards,
Nose

EDIT:

nevermind, restarting solved the issue, i'm able to timeshift to my RAMDISK now fine.
