Problem with DVBSKY S960
Added by Al B over 9 years ago
I have a ubuntu server 14.10 install with a DVBSKY S952 and T9580 both of which are running fine. Last week I purchased an S960 which uses the same -S chip I think (Same driver at least) but after scanning some muxs the adapter seems to get locked with tvheadend and i end up with messages like this:
2015-02-22 13:16:13.093 linuxdvb: Montage M88DS3103 : DVB-S #0 - retune nodata
2015-02-22 13:16:19.848 linuxdvb: Montage M88DS3103 : DVB-S #0 - poll TIMEOUT
2015-02-22 13:16:20.143 linuxdvb: Montage M88DS3103 : DVB-S #0 - retune nodata
Is it possible that this is caused by tvheadend and not the tuner? I have tried the in kernel 3.19 drivers, the media_build from dvbsky and the linuxtv.org drivers with the same result. (tried on both an intel server and a banana pi). I also am using the latest git of tvheadend. (last tried today 26/02/2015)
Does anyone have an idea what could be wrong? or anything I could try to narrow down the cause?

try it in windows and if it doesn't work there it may be the card.

What windows software for a start? and second the device works it scans finds channels it just seems to lock up after a while.
I think I had the issue before (too long ago to remember clearly) with another tuner on another server and turned out it was either the drivers or tvheadend itself.
