Issue with installing driver for skystar 2
Added by Mike Peters almost 10 years ago
HI im having a problem installing driver for skystar 2 S2 HD on my ubuntu.
Here is the commands i'm running:
@lspci -v
apt-get install build-essential gcc make mercurial linux-headers-`uname -r`
hg clone -r 9976 http://linuxtv.org/hg/v4l-dvb
wget http://www.bbti.us/download/linux/TechniSat_SkyStar2-PCI_r2.8_080709.tar.bz2
tar xfj TechniSat_SkyStar2-PCI_r2.8_080709.tar.bz2tar xfj TechniSat_SkyStar2-PCI_r2.8_080709.tar.bz2@
Then i get the error below
bzip2: (stdin) is not a bzip2 file.
tar: Child returned status 2
tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now
I think it could be corrupted when i download does anyone have the driver they could upload? Appreciate it

Ok i have managed to pull another tar from elsewhere and the put it in so now im compiling the driver. When i patch then go to make i get this error below
File not found: /lib/modules/3.3.0-32-generic/build/.config at ./scripts/make_kconfig.pl line 32, <IN> line 4.
I understand that its asking for a very old kernal of 3.3.0-32 and after doing a uname -r
my kernal is 3.13.0-32-generic which is well above. Does anyone know what the best plan of action is for me to compile the driver now?
