freeview uk - retuning and channel numbers
Added by Craig Fisher almost 10 years ago
hi
I'm using tvh 3.4.28 with a few usb dvb sticks in the uk for freeview HD. I was wondering what the best way is to deal with the occasional retune and moving about of channel numbers that happens on freeview. As it stands I have a few channels sitting on the wrong number (they were moved at some point in the epg a while back) and others with no channel number or tags that were added later.
Is there anyway to easily force a retune of tvh to pick up any changes in the freeview channel roster (new channels, moved channels etc) without manually making these changes?
thanks

I'm new to this, but the only way I've found is to delete all the configuration files (typically in /home/hts/.hts/tvheadend/ on linux) and start again!
You may have an issue with logging on the first time, in which case a
$ sudo dpkg-reconfigure tvheadend
allows you to reset the master password.

I guess that's an option. Although a bit of a nuclear option

It's not so bad - I've got used to it trying to sort out a range issues on linux and OpenELEC.
[Edit] It looks like a less drastic option is to delete the suspect channels from the services table, make sure idle scan is turned on and sit back while they re-populate. Then run Map all.
