Any future plans to support the transcoding of recordings?

The live tv player is working great and am just wondering is there any intentions in the future to support transcoding of recordings? Maybe be having a similar option to "watch tv" that applies to recordings.

Just thought i'd ask, but am very happy and thankful for tvheadend is performing at the moment.
