Scan result: scan no data, failed

Added by Markus Schürmann about 10 years ago

Hello,
I like TVHEadend really very much and I´m using it on my raspberry to record some streams on my Synology NAS. I´m using the Tevii DVB-S2 660 USB Receiver. But this combination has problems to receive many services on different muxes.
The dish is in line with Astra 19.2 and tvheadend receives 120 Muxes and 1738 services. But there are many lines like this in the syslog file:

mpegts: 12188H in Astra - tuning on Montage Technology DS3000 : DVB-S #0
Oct 12 21:40:24 raspberrypi tvheadend2042: subscription: 'scan' subscribing to mux, weight: 5, adapter: 'Montage Technology DS3000 : DVB-S #0', ne$
Oct 12 21:40:34 raspberrypi tvheadend2042: mpegts: 12188H in Astra - scan no data, failed
Oct 12 21:40:34 raspberrypi tvheadend2042: subscription: "scan" unsubscribing

The scan result for this muxes is set to "FAIL".

A very old version of tvheadend did not have this behaviour. But I don´t want to roll back ;-)

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks
Markus

I don't know if this is tvheadend issue, but I was recently trying to use it with the same device and it turned out, that it is working for some time, but sooner or later, the devices freezes on some channel and isn't responding anymore until I did unplugged it from the usb and power and reconnected it again. Then it did worked again for a while (the freezes happened after few minutes or 10 hours) so I dumped it. This could be maybe a reason for your "no data found" message...

Thanks!
But the USB receiver worked over many weeks without any issues with an old version of tvheadend. And it is still working fine with DVBViewer, which is running under Windows 7. So I guess it has something to do with the driver or firmware or... what ever!
Maybe it is easier to buy another DVB-S2 USB receiver, which is working fine with tvheadend. But first I always try to solve this kind of problems with software ;-)

Sure, this could be a driver issue, or the way how is TVHE handling the device (I think the tuning frequency is bit more aggresive than other SW here) or even something others on your site. Anyway, I didn't found any solution and it was intended to run with tvhe, so I sold it again. Unfortunatelly there is no better USB S2 device on the market. The only last one, terratec, has been shut down and the new produced tuner (made by different company, even with the same model name) has changed the hardware revision and there is no linux support anymore and others mostelly are using same Montage tuner, so it is really pitty.

You are absolutely right! Unfortunately there is no more to say about this issue. I´m searching a long time now to solve this problem but I did´nt find any solution.:(
Thanks for your help! :)
