DVB-T stick not going in to power saving mode

but no such problem with DVB-S. Now I know that power saving and idle scanning for the epg hasn't always worked exactly how you thnk it might. For a long time, even with all the power saving boxes ticked, tvheadend wouldn't really do that. The problem as I remember was with the epg scanner running itself every hour or so. On DVB-S where a single satellite might have over 100 transponders, giving thirty seconds or so to each meant that it had barely finished when it was time to start again. Then around the end of August the situation reversed itself completely: power saving worked, but the system never woke up to do an epg scan unless prompted to do so manually. Now my latest build (3.9.1563) seems to have DVB-S working properly. I never see the system wake up to run an epg scan, but the epg has the number of programmes that make me believe it is running it daily according to the cron schedule. My DVB-T stick however (a kworld U-499) seems to be almost permanently running an epg scan. It doesn't interfere with recordings, but it is always there in the status tab, and the stick itself is warm to the touch. Has anyone else noticed this?
