Tvheadend

I have tvheadend configured and seems to be working properly on build 3.9.1353. I am having an issue with the EPG though, I am unable to sort by columns, when I click on them the sort ascending and descending is greyed out. Is this a permissions issue on a directory, or is there a way to fix?
Also if I use XBMC's channel manager I am unable to edit the channel and am given an error message "not supported by back end" is there a fix for this?
