Proper way to remove DVB card TBS drivers?

Sorry I know it's one of those annoying questions.
But since there is now an open source driver for the TBS 6985 (thanks Luis) I'd like to remove the crap TBS ones and install these, not a problem isntalling them but a bit unsure as to the right way to go about removing the TBS ones first.
People have mentioned just deleting the dvb_tree thing
