Cannot Map Services to Channels

Added by G E over 10 years ago

Hello,

After many months of trying to get my AVerMedia AVerTVHD MCE A180 tuner working, I finally beat it into submission. The FW file was a nightmare to find online. Now that it is working in 12.04 Ubuntu 32bit(quantal) It works fine with other programs such as Kaffeine.
My main purpose for use is with XBMC as the Frontend via TVHeadend PVR.

I tried TVHeadend stable and could not get it to scan the ATSC channels here in the states (Tampa, Florida). I tried all the given frequency lists given for ATSC/8VSB. Still no go. I even made my own list for center frequencies for all the Tampa Bay television stations. I know that I have the right information since I was in Television and Satellite Broadcasting as an Engineer for the past thirty years.
I have read elsware that ATSC was an issue to scan.

So I took the plunge and installed the http://apt.tvheadend.org/unstable repository. I did a full purge of the stable version and installed version HTS Tvheadend 3.9.570~g5fbe7a7~quantal.
I could not find the way to select from the saved frequency lists as in the Stable version. Is that missing in the unstable version? I proceeded to add my own frequencies for the Muxes.
Thanks to thye Devs for fixing the ATSC issues.

Every ATSC/8VSB channel scanned in perfect. I see all the Service Names except for one county school system Channel 14 (473.000 MHz) 4 channels in one mux)) Now next I tried to Map services to channels, No Joy at all. I tried quite a few times. I tried one service at a time and even highlighted them all. I read somewhere that Mapping is another issue and apparently the Devs fixed it but it was never pushed into any release.

Is there a way around this issue? Can one of the Devs push the fix for mapping? I see that there are few and far between updates and actually no stable release for quite some time. I know that you all have a life and TVHeadend is probably the furthest thing in your minds, but can someone push a fix through to at least the Unstable for the mapping issues?
Please don't lead me to the Myth nightmare labyrinth again. Myth somewhat works via XBMC, but way too much clutter to just do a simple backend for XBMC as a PVR.
I'm getting old and less is more for me.

I tried to be as detailed as possible minus the system hardware. If that is needed, please let me know. It's not a hardware issue but you never know.

Thanks for reading this long winded message.

Just a quick update since no one has answered the post yet.
I can only access the Map one time per session, meaning when I first access the web interface.
This is all I get trying to map all or just one service.
