Continuity counter errors

Added by d p over 10 years ago

Hi

I am having problems with video freezing every so often, since upgrading to the newer builds, currently on: 3.9.470~g6482d33~saucy, but was happening on a few builds previously also.

I wasnt having the problem with the stable build.

Here is a log: http://paste.ubuntu.com/7204969/

I think the error happens when the EPG is trying to update in the background. I also read somewhere to disable idle scanning on device.

1. Is there any way to limit the ota epg scanning to run only at a certain time, or at least less frequently ?

2. Is there a way to disable idle scanning on the new version ?

You are getting a lot of -

"Transport error indicator" errors, unless I am mistaken these are flagged, probably at hardware/driver level when the packets have uncorrectable errors, so this seems to be an issue upstream of tvheadend.

I don't know about your other questions - I am not using latest tvh and only have DVB-T.

I couldn't find a way to change the epg scan frequency without changing the code (which is likely different now) - I set it to once/day, though the actual time drifts as it's re-scheduled after the scan is finished.

Thanks. I have since done a complete re-install, it seems to be running smoothly at the moment. So hopefully it will be ok.
