nanoStick T2 290e can't lock

Added by Erland Hedman almost 11 years ago

Hi all,

As this is my first message, I would like to thanks the developers for an excellent product. :)

I am using a combination of tvheadend-3.4patch1 on an ARM9 board (Pandaboard), oscam with a smargo reader (for Boxer pay channels in Sweden) and clients such as XBMC on Linux/W7 and TVHGuide on Android.
Everything inducing DVB/T2 (free HD-tv) works perfectly and the Pandaboard with tvh is up 24/7 for weeks!

To the problem:
The above combination is good for the 3.2.30 Linux kernel for both Pandaboard and Raspberry Pi (functions but w poor performance on Linux 3.10) but kernels higher than that (or at least 3.16 and above) seems to introduce some incompatibility between tvh and the underlying driver system.

With these kernels tvh does not tune in to any mux and signal strength is reported to zero.
I have tested with the w_scan shell utility that actually finds the adapter and the mux:es found are valid for my region so the system lives on this level.

With the working kernels I also find two adapters in thv (Sony CDX2820R DVB-T/2 and CDX2820R DVB-C) but with the non working kernel only one CDX2820R with no type extension.

There is no problems with any access permission or similar basic stuff, and the logs from tvh at start up looks the same except from the name of the adapter.

Does anyone have any ideas? or could someone put me into a direction where I can start examine/debug the code?

Ok,

A couple of combined self-inflicted problems PLUS one demanding PATCH made it work with kernel 3.6.11 also with acceptable performance on a raspberry pi:
