[Solved] Incomplete Channel List -- How to add missing channels?
Added by Chess Player over 13 years ago
Hello,
I am writing in English, since this seems to be the preferred language in this forum. However, the problem lies with German DVB-C, KabelBW to be precise.
But before I state my problem, let me first say: WOW, installation was dead easy (even on my Dockstar!). Thanks a lot for that! Now I want to see how much use TVheadend actually is, but I am optimistic ...
Anyway, I am no expert on all the terminology, so I hope I can make myself understood here. Finally, here is the problem:
The channel scan seemed to work quite well and found most of the relevant channels. However, it did not find the SD version of "Das Erste" (ARD) and neither did it find the "third programmes" (Die Dritten). These should all be on the same transponder/mux (here I am not sure which is right ...) as "Das Erste HD". This Problem did not occur with "ZDF HD", where all the other channels in the bouquet were also found (zdf.kultur, zdf.neo, KIKA, ...).
What I would like to know now is, wheter there is n easy way of adding those channels? One way that comes to mind is to directly write the appropriate files in the .hts-directory with all the known information. This could actually be done automatically, maybe, based on a w-scan output, couldn't it? Is there a tool out there already which does that? Or, is there an even easier way to do that?
Help is greatly appreciated!

Well, to say it clearly: the post before mine ("map unmapped channels" (http://www.lonelycoder.com/redmine/boards/4/topics/872)) explains just what to do, because I just realized that the SERVICES had been discovered but not mapped to CHANNELS by the automatic mapping ... (see also the post called "Understanding DVB-T setup" (http://www.lonelycoder.com/redmine/boards/4/topics/114). To my excuse, I wasn't home when I wrote this post and was writing from memory. And that memory was generated after 1 o'clock last night ...
