How To Add Channels From .strm Files
Added by Mark W almost 12 years ago
Hello, I have many .strm files that were created from my HDHomeRun network tuner and have been used with my XBMC setup for some time now (using the hdhomerun:// protocol). With the new XBMC versions adding support for PVR I thought I would switch over to using a real PVR setup.
I have setup the TVHeadEnd server on a Raspberry Pi running RaspBMC and have tried to add channels using the WebUI. However, after finding 481 muxes and letting them scan (finding about 190 services), I only get a handful of channels when I map the services to channels (13). I have over 70 channels availible to me from the .strm files that I have. Is there any way to automatically use those .strm files to get the channels in my TVHeadEnd setup instead?
Thank you for your help.

Not sure if this will help, but the format of the .strm files is:
hdhomerun://<DeviceID>-0/tuner0?channel=qam256:609000000&program=12
hdhomerun://<DeviceID>-1/tuner1?channel=qam256:609000000&program=12

I am also trying to get the hdhomerun setup to work with the tvheadend pvr client. I am able to watch tv from Video having added the strm files from the hdhomerun Windows app, but I am unable to get tvheadend to recognize the hdhomerun or the channel list.
I have search for a tutorial on how to do this but to no avail. How did you get the PVR setup to recognize the hdhomerun.
How did you add a channel that would be recognized as a hdhomerun channel from the web gui?
Thanks
