How to enable ffmpeg pipe on m3u stream?

Is there an easier way to enable pipe on m3u stream without downloading the file and then adding pipe to the playlist? I miss provider m3u updates when I use this option. DOesn't tvheadend have an option to use ffmpeg pipe without adding it to the playlist?
