Merging the Same Channel From Different Sources
Added by Paul Marsh almost 2 years ago
I currently run TVHeadend v4.3-1112~gd3b577a on my Netgear ReadyNAS 214, with a Triax TSS400 Sat>IP converter, feeding Kodi clients.
My satellite dish is fixed on Astra 28E, and the LNB has 8 outputs - only 4 of which are currently used, although all 8 are cabled in to the loft where the existing Sat>IP converter is.
I have treated myself to another Sat>IP converter, a Megasat SAT-IP Server 3 (MEG-8000) this time, and I would like to have them both running concurrently. I should receive it some time next week.
I'm assuming that it will appear as another device under Configuration > DVB Inputs > TV Adapters, with a different IP address to the existing Triax, and I will scan for services on it as I currently do. Will TVHeadend realise that each TV service, (eg BBC1 HD) might be coming from a different source, but is the same channel on both Sat>IP converters, or will I end up with two versions of every channel? Any way to merge the two sources of each channel?
What I want to end up with is that each Kodi client just sees one EPG number and entry, (ie not two lines for each channel in the EPG), for each TV service.
How can I achieve this please?
