How to safely upgrade TVHeadend qnap package without losing settings
Added by A AAA about 2 years ago
I'm referring to this package https://www.qnapclub.eu/en/qpkg/723 by avatar virtualdj
Currently I've installed version 0.9.8.0 configured with SAT>IP. How do I upgrade the package to 0.9.8.1 without deleting all the settings? Just install the package?
I found this in the comments of the package:
TVHeadend QPKG supports only 1 tuner even though TVHeadend itself supports more than one.
Why is the QNAP version only capable of serving one tuner? Isn't this just unix, too?
Is there really no way to configure 1 SAT>IP and 2 DVB-C sticks?

Short answer: this is most probably modified source code version, from where is a limitations.
If your nas support virtualisation install simple ubuntu server and skip all limitations.

Normally update will not change user configuration.
You can manually backup them to be more secure for you.
package_routines script inside installer, explain what is been done if thee is old version installed.

How can I do a manual backup of the settings? Which folders/files need to be considered?
