Is it feasible to use a Raspberry Pi 1 Model B?

Is it feasible to use TVHeadEnd on a Raspberry Pi 1 Model B?

I have a Hauppauge WinTV-Solo (model 1589) and it works OK with Win 10 so hardware is fine.
My Pi 1 Model B works fine also with Pi OS Lite (32 bit).

But when I plug the WinTV into the USB of the the Pi 1 model B it crashes
so I have the question if it is actually possible to get a
  • Pi 1 model B
  • Hauppage WinTV-solo

setup to work.

I will get a Pi 4 next week but in the meantime I thought I would try to find a use for the old Model B.

Thanks for reading.

The crash is probably due to inadequate power.

Use a power supply that can provide more current, or connect the tuner via a powered hub.

A Pi 1 will work if your needs are undemanding. You should configure some swap.

I'm not a tvheadend profession, but it is doing similar with Raspberry Pi Zero W.
If connecting the USB tuner to a live system, it does a system reboot, because it doesn't have a safe power circuit to stabilize its voltage. So when you connect the USB device it results a voltage drop. However it is working with it if it is connected since system boot but connecting to a live system is not recommended.
