Newbie question setting up on R Pi

Added by Mike Smart over 3 years ago

Hi there - just learning how to use a Raspberry Pi 4B for the first time and am trying to set up a TV Hat.
I'm following these instructions, but am not able to get much further than the early stages:
https://thepihut.com/blogs/raspberry-pi-tutorials/how-to-stream-digital-tv-with-the-raspberry-pi-tv-hat#Tvheadend%20installation

Those instructions say that halfway through installation a config screen will come up and you can set a username etc
However, after typing in the install command the Pi runs through an install process, but no configuration wizard comes up, and instead !things just stop as in the image shown.

I am, however, able to access a login screen on the Pi at port 9981, but it asks for a login - but I haven't been able to set one, and the Pi user id and password doesn't work.

Are the instructions I'm following wrong, or am I missing something out here?
Any help gratefully received, however please remember I've not used a Pi or terminal before and so I have no idea what commands I'm supposed to enter to get things done!

The config screen to set the Tvheadend user details is not part of Tvheadend, it has been added by whoever created the Raspbian package. There is a way to bypass Tvheadend login when installing, but if you are a Linux novice it might be safer to ask on the Raspberry Pi forums.

I found a spare SD card with RaspiOS Lite (no GUI) so I tried installing Tvheadend. The config screen appeared as promised, and after setting a username/password the installation ran to completion. After rebooting I was able to access the Tvheadend UI with my user/pass.

Did you update RaspiOS after installing (sudo apt update + sudo apt upgrade)?

on regular x86

cat /home/hts/.hts/tvheadend/superuser
{
"username": "admin",
"password": "admin"
}

hello again guys!
Who know how install TBS 6905 drivers on Ubuntu 18.04.5 LTS?
I do it by this guide and everything goes well, I mean: install, updates and atc. but drivers are not installed and TVH can not found any adapters
