problems with DVBSky S952
Added by Sulla Sulla about 6 years ago
Dear communitiy!
I'm experiencing problems with getting my DVBSky S952 PCIe card (Twin Tuner, only adapter 0 is enabled, because I only have 1 sat cable) to work:
Using TVheadend 4.2.6 on ubuntu xenial.
In Linux, the card works using linux-kernel drivers and firmware provided by LinuxTV.org:
It gets found in syslog and dmesg, firmware gets loaded nicely, the program "w_scan" (from apt package w-scan) nicely scans my LNB (Astra 19.2E in this case) and finds all channels with their names.
Note, however, that "scan" from apt package dvb-apps does not work.
In TVheadend, the card scans "networks", it finds 107 muxes with 1438 channels (with their correct names), i mapped 59 of them. Also, it automatically scans the muxes.
However, when left to its own, it does not build EPG data, despite an OTA-grabber is installed.
TVH tries to scan, but it does not succeed. This is what the log gives me:

Moreover, when I log in to the web-frontend and want to play a channel (from the configuration ==> channel window), I also get "no data" errors:

The same happens when I connect via KODI media center and an unpriviledged user.
Can somebody point me to what might be configured wrong, because I'm totally stuck. My other PC, using DVBSky S960 USB tuners works nicely with (most) all relevant (to me) configurations in the web-interface identical.
Regards,
sulla
