TVH with HDHR Prime Comcast prime channels question
Added by peter pan over 8 years ago
I have modified the us-Cable-Standard-center-frequencies-QAM256, replacing the frequencies with the Comcast frequencies.
TVH scan and found, map the services, but when i play a channel i can see in status / streams the weight and bandwidth running fine, but i don't get any video, status / subscriptions shows errors increasing, and low input and output kbps, i think is related to encryption via udp, because HDHR log shows connection established via UDP, but TVH is not decrypting, but i am not sure.
When i ingest the channels via http using the iptv option, works fine, but no HBO, Starz, only locals.
Does anybody have make HBO, or Starz, channels work in TVH?
Does anybody have make work the udp streaming from HDHR Prime?
Thanks

If the channels are copy-protected (they show DRM next to them on the channel lineup page of the Prime's web interface), then they will not work with TVH. For copy-protected content, the entire pipeline from receiving the stream to displaying it, must support encrypted content and be certified by CableLabs: currently the only PVR software that does this is WMC. Linux-based or open-source options will never support protected content because of the certification process.
(SiliconDust's DVR software is supposed to support protected content, but the betas do not as of yet; plus their DVR software is over 9 months behind schedule: its general public release was supposed to be in October of last year!)
