No services found! - DVB-T RTL2832U / raspbmc
Added by Richard Gordon almost 10 years ago
So I finally got around to installing DVB-T USB TV Tuner RTL2832U and R820T antenna to my B+ running raspbmc but I'm having some issues, hopefully someone can advise me?
Anyway, to the problem, the tuner is actually recognised in tvheadend and I can see it when I view the web server in my browser.
In the tvheadend config I've enabled the adapter in DVB inputs and added the 8 mux frequencies for my transmitter (Divis), idle scanning is also ticked, however no services are found during the automatic initial scan.
DVB scan files path is set to: /usr/share/dvb
I'm using the default account in access control with full access to everything.
See screenshots attached below. What can I do here? I've spent hours searching online but have not found anyway to get services to appear. I'm certain the frequencies are correctly added.
Here are the frequencies for my region
http://www.ukfree.tv/transmitters/tv/DIVIS
The tuner is connected directly to my B+ and is displayed in tvheadend so there appears to be enough power going to it.
dmesg and lsmod shows device recognised and intialised okay, I can provide them if needed.
Please help me, I've lost many hours on trying to get this working properly. Thanks

Also having this problem, but on ubuntu 14.04. with PCTV 290e TVHeadend 3.4.28
Was working untill I upgraded to Kodi, then when I tried to play the channel all I got was "no service available"
To try and resolve this I tried retune everything in the tvheadend webinterface. This resulted in (as above) adding the 8 multiplex frequencies, but no services are found.
Also found that the media keys for my remote stopped working in Kodi (not your problem)
This was all working up untill I upgraded to Kodi (so happy I did that).
Not sure this is a tvheadend problem but dont know where else to put it.

I had a similar issue when adding muxes, some tuners will not work when certain values are set to AUTO, try deleting all the muxes and re add them using the correct frequency values.
I can't remember much about 3.4 (it's been that long since I used it) but try setting the Transmission Mode and Guard Interval.
From that link I think your values should be 64QAM, 32k guard and 3/4FEC for DTG-3.

OK Thanks for the advice.
When I looked to try it I found that the tuning problems had resolved themselves over night.
Suppose the problem could have been at the transmitter.
