[solved] Stream-client: connecting fails
Added by JP T about 10 years ago
Hi,
I try to connect to tvh using different clients.
But except admin user from VLC nothing works.
What are the requirements for streaming from tvh?
access permissions? URIs?
Versions:
xbmc 13.2
HTS Tvheadend 3.4~wheezy
xbmc tvheadend htsp client 1.9.27
tvhguide
This is xbmc, alternating between the messages "access denied" and "connection lost":
... 15:28:06 NAS tvheadend[2688]: htsp: Got connection from 192.168.178.20 15:28:06 NAS tvheadend[2688]: htsp: 192.168.178.20: Welcomed client software: XBMC Media Center (HTSPv8) 15:28:06 NAS tvheadend[2688]: htsp: 192.168.178.20 [ XBMC Media Center ]: Identified as user stream 15:28:06 NAS tvheadend[2688]: htsp: 192.168.178.20 [ stream | XBMC Media Center ]: Disconnected 15:28:11 NAS tvheadend[2688]: htsp: Got connection from 192.168.178.20 15:28:11 NAS tvheadend[2688]: htsp: 192.168.178.20: Welcomed client software: XBMC Media Center (HTSPv8) 15:28:11 NAS tvheadend[2688]: htsp: 192.168.178.20 [ XBMC Media Center ]: Identified as user stream 15:28:11 NAS tvheadend[2688]: htsp: 192.168.178.20 [ stream | XBMC Media Center ]: Disconnected ...
Trying VLC or VLC plugin from browser shows the following.
And VLC keeps asking for login and pw.
15:35:12 NAS tvheadend[2688]: htsp: 127.0.0.1: Disconnected 15:35:14 NAS tvheadend[2688]: HTTP: 192.168.178.20: /stream/channelid//1 -- 401 15:35:18 NAS tvheadend[2688]: HTTP: 192.168.178.20: /stream/channelid//1 -- 401 15:35:20 NAS tvheadend[2688]: HTTP: 192.168.178.20: /stream/channelid//1 -- 401 15:35:45 NAS tvheadend[2688]: HTTP: 192.168.178.20: /stream/channelid//1 -- 401 15:35:49 NAS tvheadend[2688]: HTTP: 192.168.178.20: /stream/channelid//1 -- 401 15:35:50 NAS tvheadend[2688]: HTTP: 192.168.178.20: /stream/channelid//1 -- 401 15:36:00 NAS tvheadend[2688]: htsp: Got connection from 192.168.178.20 15:36:00 NAS tvheadend[2688]: htsp: 192.168.178.20: Disconnected 15:36:00 NAS tvheadend[2688]: htsp: Got connection from 192.168.178.20 15:36:00 NAS tvheadend[2688]: htsp: 192.168.178.20: Disconnected 15:36:00 NAS tvheadend[2688]: htsp: Got connection from 192.168.178.20 15:36:00 NAS tvheadend[2688]: htsp: 192.168.178.20: Disconnected 15:36:57 NAS tvheadend[2688]: HTTP: 192.168.178.20: /stream/channelid/52 -- 401 15:36:57 NAS tvheadend[2688]: HTTP: 192.168.178.20: /stream/channelid/52 -- 401 15:37:12 NAS tvheadend[2688]: htsp: Got connection from 127.0.0.1 15:37:12 NAS tvheadend[2688]: htsp: 127.0.0.1: Disconnected
Using VLC with admin user works, but neither with android app or xbmc.
This might be because my admin pw is 20 chars generated (if not c&p it's hard not to mistype)

ouch
tvheadend was blocking access from denied ip range.
Had replaced my router (dhcp server) which delivered adresses from a different ip range.
Maybe tvheadend should log more meaningful messages?
