OpenElec with HDHomeRun: HTSP: "no input detected"

Added by Kasper Andersen almost 12 years ago

After a long a winding installation of tvheadend, I finally got it working with EPG and everything.

But to my surprise it seems that the connection between my OpenElec-install and my HDHomeRun Dual, only lasts for a couple of minutes before I get the error message: "no input detected".
When I restart, it works for a couple of minutes and then it happens again!

I'm running OpenElec 2.0.0 on my AsRock HT330.

Have anyone else had the same experience?
I've googled a lot, but can't find a solution.

Thanks.
Kasper

Just want to give you a few things to check since i was seeing this same issue and have all but completely resolved it.

The "no input detected" message is a result of low signal strength.

I'm not sure about you're setup but i'm just pulling OTA channels so i'm using an outdoor antanna, if you're in the same boat then my first recommendation would be to make sure you have a good antenna and your signal strength is strong. If not, then I would look into changing the location of your antenna and getting a signal booster (they're about $25 on amazon). The HDHomeRun needs good signal strength to work properly.

What I also did was update my tvheadend version to 3.2.18, I did both of these at the same time but I know each added a ton to the stability to my system. I'm also running Openelec 2.0 but on a fusion based system. You can find tvheadend version 3.2.18 add-on downloads from the link below which were graciously compiled by fibble on the openelec forum. If you don't see your version on the thread he'll create one for you. After the update I did see my CPU % go down by over half while watching HD shows.

I hope this helps.

Thank you so much for your reply. I was beginning to give up. I'll try this and write if it works
