Problems when using Kodi HTSP client
Added by nit nit over 5 years ago
Hello TVHeahend forum,
I am using a tvheadend server running on a Rpi2 (Libreelec 9.0.1 system recent stable version + stable tvh 4.2) with a USB DVBT2 dongle used for receiving DVB transmission and serving various clients in my home network. The clients I use are mainly Kodi HTSP client on Xiaomi Mi Boxes, and TVHClient on Android tablets/phones.
The system works pretty well with all clients when tuning to a DVB mux.
When tuning to a DVBT2 mux (new mux in my country), the Kodi HTSP client plays the stream but with some annoying artifacts:
a. Sound and picture are not synchronized
b. Every 2-3 seconds there is a small 'gap' in the sound
When I play the same DVBT2 mux with any client which use 'pass' profile (either android TVHClient or Kodi IP TV Simple addon), the above problems do not exist !
I have tried two types of USB dongles: Mygica T230C and XBOX one Digital DVB Tuner and with both I am facing the same problem.
I have installed some dvb tools addon on the Rpi2 server and could record a snapshot of the DVBT2 mux stream with dvb5-zap. When I play the recorded stream with VLC on a windows system, it plays fine with no problems.
My assumption is that there is some problem when the tvheadend streams a live channel with HTSP profile and the problem is either with the tvheadend server or the DVBT2 mux.
I would be grateful if someone could analyze the DVBT2 mux stream recording (attached) and tell me what the problem is and if it can be overcome.
