cpu usage of leila RC2 with tvh pvr add-on
Added by Rob vh almost 6 years ago
I a testing libreelec 8.90.009 (with Leila rc2).
When I look at the menu (Estuary skin) and no add-ons installed, my old AMD E-350 test kit runs at 20% CPU busy (2 stacks, alternating at 0% and 20%).
When I enable the Tvheadend HTSP Client 4.4.6.2, CPU busy jumps to 140-180%
ps -A shows me that it all happens in kodi.bin.
This is AFTER tvh has finished copying the EPG data from the hts server (which is on another machine).
I have an ancient openelec with a HTSP Client from >2 years ago, where CPU busy is constantly <10%, whether I am playing live TV or idling.
Any idea where I should look for the reason why kodi.bin is kept busy with the latest Leila?

CPU usages returns to a modest 15-20% when all EPG info is finally transferred from the TVheadend server. Takes 8 minutes, much longer than with the ancient openelec clients where the same amount of data is transfered in under a minute.
I up upgraded my Kodi client to 8.95.002 and the TVheadend client to 4.4.7.2. All works great.
