PyEPG install

Added by lucas elf almost 8 years ago

Hi there,

Reading somethings on the web and here I'm a little bit confuse...

Question 1:
Are the PyEPG from github.com/adamsutton/PyEPG need it?

Question 2:
Can PyEPG based on that link been changed to add different grabber?

Thanks

PyEPG is not needed, it is merely supported. And if you enable the PyEPG grabber, Tvheadend does not run/manage the grabber, it merely creates a socket that your PyEPG grabber writes its output to (instead of writing the output to a file).

Hi Robert, then is not possible to change the pyepg to be used with different grabber..
I hope in near future coders can and to tvheadend 3party grabber, at lest a dummy one, to get tvheadend API...
I think can be a cool idea..

:)

You can write a grabber that corresponds to the XMLTV tools commands, place it in $PATH and Tvheadend will discover it an consider it as an "Internal" grabber.

What are you looking for? Your post just mentioned you wanted to use PyEPG. The PyEPG is controlled by you as the user, not Tvheadend; you are merely directing PyEPG's output to Tvheadend.

Ok get it :)

About PyEPG's is to be used to grab EPG from atlas, the question is by modding it can we use it with different site?
I'am not a coder, but maybe someone can read this and help us...

Of course is not clear to me, we need or not need use of: github.com/adamsutton/PyEPG?
And if so how we can patch it to tvheadend find it...
I would like to test it but is need a key and i don't have it to try it rrrrr...

By searching on that source looks like i can find the config file store here: cloud.github.com/downloads/adamsutton/PyEPG
Anyone now how config file looks like?
